Dear Potential Sponsor, Socrates said, "The unexamined life is the life not worth living." This is the destiny of the theater, to examine human life. So I ask you, what contemporary adolescent cannot benefit from the examination of human character? This is the purpose and philosophy of Classic Youth Theatre, Inc. With school budgets being slashed and more and more of America's youth floundering to find their place in society, we seek to provide a sanctuary of intellectual debate, a place of contemplation, a place of expression, a place of discovery. Perhaps by studying the broken character of Stanley Kowalski, the tender confidence of Elwood P. Dowd or the heroic selflessness of Cyrano de Bergerac, we will be able to shape a youth's mind into one of intellectual power. In our town there are no free theatrical experiences for children except through the schools; and even those are limited. Even the bought and paid for productions are largely musicals. Please, would you help our community by supporting a classic theatrical experience? We would like to offer you the opportunity to be a lead sponsor (anonymously or openly) by underwriting our current production ($3000). Give often and please give generously. Your donation is tax-deductible, and you will definitely be taking a proactive role in helping to mold the minds of tomorrow. Offer our children an alternative to playing video games, watching too much television, and idling way their time with empty noise. Sincerely, Loralie McGill Production Director/Founder Mission Statement Providing a classic theatrical experience for the enrichment of North County youth at no cost to the participating production team. |
