Dracula Workshop: August 24^th – 28^th from 4pm – 5:30pm Auditions: August 29^th from 10am – 3pm Performance Dates: November 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th	Bram Stoker’s Dracula examines the nature of human character and arrives at the conclusion that the forces which are to be our demise are not lurking in the shadows of the night, but within the human soul.

Holiday Show ‘09 Auditions: November 14^th from 10am – 3pm 1451 MacKinnon Ave Cardiff, CA 92007 Performance Dates: December 19^th 6350 Yarrow Rd Carlsbad, CA 92011	Classic Youth Theatre seldom performs musicals, but our Holiday Show opens the door to those types of performances, such as comic routines, sing, dance, and other forms of entertainment that can’t find their way in the other seasons of production. Any person may sign to participate in the show, regardless of age. It is a time to bond and celebrate the arts and our being in the community.

The Importance of Being Earnest Workshop: January 4^th – 8^th from 4pm – 5:30pm Auditions: January 9^th from 10am-3pm 1451 MacKinnon Ave Cardiff, CA 92007 Performance Dates: March 19^th, 20^th, and 21^st 6350 Yarrow Rd Carlsbad, CA 92011	The Importance of Being Earnest is Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy of manners to life with a hilarious look at fun, games, and dubious ethics among the British upper crust.

The Misanthrope Workshop: April 12^th – 16^th from 4pm – 5:30pm Auditions: April 17^th from 10am-3pm 1451 MacKinnon Ave Cardiff, CA 92007 Performance Dates: June 26^th, 27^th, and 28^th The Olivehain Meeting Hall	The Misanthrope, one of Moliere’s most popular plays, is a searching comic study of falsity, shallowness, and self-righteousness. The misanthrope in this case is Alceste, a man whose conscience and sincerity are too rigorous for his time.

Children from the ages
of 8 to 18 may participate in P.L.A.E.

All classic material has been modified to be appropriate for junior audiences.

Private Lessons: (Available!)
Loralie McGill, the founding director of Classic Youth Theatre, Inc., is now offering private acting lessons to adults and Jr. students. Private lessons take place at her home 1451 Mackinnon Ave. Cardiff, CA 92007. Lessons last an hour and it is recommended that a student take on no less than eight lessons. Each student will be taken through three monologues in eight weeks and have an intensive understanding of character development, line intention, staging, blocking, and presentation. At the end of eight weeks each student will have three monologues performance ready. Cost $55 an hour.
*NOTE lessons must be paid in advance by 4 weeks.

There will be no Sunday matinee on July 4th because of the holiday, but students participating in the play must be available for all performances.
